My first attempt at Juice fasting
So I tried to do a juice fast, but failed miserably. My body is programed to eat, and by lunch time I was so hungry I didn’t know what to do with myself, so I drank more juice, and I was ok for a little longer.
But then I started to feel light-headed and I could feel my neck muscles go into spasms again. I decided since I have fibromyalgia juice fasting might not be the answer and I binged on junk food. I felt so miserable that I just couldn’t stop myself.
But even though I resorted to junk food towards the end of the day, all the freshly squeezed juices I drank throughout the day really helped to do some cleaning.
But anyway, the reason I’m writing is because I came across this article which explains why I felt so bad. It was because my body was being cleansed–apparently the crappier you feel, the more cleansing is going on. And it’s perfectly normal to go into withdrawel or become irritated and depressed.
So I’m going to try it again, maybe for just a day at first and then 2 days and so on. I cannot imagine doing it for a week, but then I read of people who do it for a month! I have to admire as they must have a strong mind-set, which I apparently do not have…yet.
I’m going to take a break and pull myself together and perhaps in a few days I’ll give it another go. In the meantime I’m going to continue to drink fresh juice every day to help prepare me for when I do fast.
There are so many health benefits to juicing it is unbelievable. I wrote an article about some of the benefits of juicing. Click here to read more.
